Blackpool v Stockport County

County versus Blackpool was one of the games that I was most looking forward to so when I saw the fixture list, I was a bit disappointed to see that the game was on a Tuesday night in October, but never the less we made the trip to Bloomfield Road. On the way to Blackpool, to my surprise, people were confident of getting a result. When we got to Blackpool the first thing that we did was we got something from a Chippy. After that we thought we would have enough time to go and have a look at the lights. It took us a little longer than we expected, to be precise it took us just over an hour.

When we arrived at the game we were 10 minutes late but that did not matter as we had a good time going through the lights. When we got in the first thing that I saw was that Blackpool had a free kick in our area because of a back pass. The free kick was shot miles over the bar and we settled down. The first half was not the best and the best chance fell to Luke Beckett, who rounded the goal keeper but the ball was blocked on the line by Clarke.

The second half started a lot better and Ben Burgess intelligent flick left Kevin Ellinson to score on the the half volley from the 25 yds out. After County had scored, Blackpool started to get back in it and their best chance fell to John Murphy who's header came back off the inside of the post after a good counter attack. Stockport made it 2-0 soon after, when Ben Burgess put Kevin Ellison in on the wide left, where he crossed for Ali Gibb.to fire past Barnes in the goal. With 25minutes to go Blackpool brought on Martin Bullock and he caused Stockport all sorts of problems. In the last minute of the game Blackpool where really pressing forward and Stockport caught them on the break. Aaron Lescott robbed John Hills in midfield where he played a good ball over the top of the Blackpool defence for Luke Beckett to run on and chip Barnes from the edge of the area. Straight from the kick off Blackpool scored a consolation goal from Milligan and that was how it finished. On the way home we were in great moods that county had beat one of the best teams in the division.
